Sydney : Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Honorable Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University (DIU) and Chairman of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB), represented Bangladesh at the Australia–Bangladesh Business Expo 2025 (ABBF), held from October 01-02, at the Sydney International Convention & Exhibition Centre, a press release said.
Organized by the Australia Bangladesh Business Forum (ABBF), the Expo brought together over 3,000 professionals, industry leaders, and academics to strengthen trade, education, and innovation partnerships between the two nations. The event featured expert-led seminars, sector showcases, and networking opportunities with a focus on Textiles, IT, Education, Agriculture, Food, Leather, and Pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Khan spoke at the Education and Skills Session, alongside distinguished speakers including Tanveer Shaheed, Director of International Recruitment at Macquarie University; Vicky Clare, Associate Director of Study NSW, Investment NSW; and Megha Gupta, Program Manager – Bangladesh, Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade).
In his remarks, Dr. Khan highlighted Bangladesh’s transformation in higher education through innovation, governance reform, and industry–academia integration. He emphasized the opportunities for Bangladesh–Australia collaboration in education export through joint degree programs and digital platforms; technology trade by leveraging Bangladesh’s IT outsourcing and EdTech sector; skills partnerships in healthcare, renewable energy, and Industry 4.0; and sustainability ventures such as green campuses, climate resilience, and social entrepreneurship.
Dr. Khan’s participation not only positioned Bangladesh as a rising hub of education and innovation in South Asia but also reaffirmed DIU’s mission to advance bilateral partnerships, global branding, and sustainable development. The ABBF Expo 2025 concluded with a strong call for bold collaborations, underlining the role of education and skills as the foundation for trade, innovation, and shared prosperity between Australia and Bangladesh.
