DHAKA : BRAC Bank has recognised its top performers for their outstanding contribution to driving inward remittance growth and promoting innovative products exclusively tailored for remittance beneficiaries.

A total of 45 individuals, including branch staff, agent banking personnel, sales teams, and agent banking partners, were honoured in various categories for their contribution to the ‘ProbashiPoribar’ and ‘TARA ProbashiPoribar’ account opening campaign.

These initiatives are designed to encourage the use of secure banking channels for remittance inflows and to promote savings among beneficiaries, thereby ensuring long-term financial security.

During a ceremony organized on October 26, 2025, at the bank’s Head Office, BRAC Bank’s Managing Director & CEO, Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, presented awards to the top performing coworkers who made the highest contributions to the campaign.

In his address, Tareq Refat Ullah Khan stated, “We aim to strengthen Bangladesh’s remittance business and contribute positively to the national economy. Our dedicated coworkers are tirelessly encouraging remittance inflows through legal channels. Today’s awardees truly deserve this recognition for their relentless efforts.”

The recognition event celebrated and motivated the employees who played a vital role in reaching customers and ensuring quality banking services. Both account types offer a wide range of benefits, including free life insurance coverage and monthly interest. Additionally, women customers enjoy extra privileges such as free health and maternity insurance. These offerings encourage beneficiaries to save their remitted funds, leading to stronger financial well-being and long-term stability.

The event was attended by Md. Shaheen Iqbal, CFA, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Treasury, FI, and Corporate and Institutional Banking; Shahrear Zamil, Head of Remittance and Probashi Banking; along with other bank officials.

BRAC Bank has introduced the ‘ProbashiPoribar Account’ for families of expatriates and the ‘TARA ProbashiPoribar Account’ specifically for female members of those families. During the campaign, customers who opened these accounts and received remittances through BRAC Bank enjoyed attractive gifts.

With BRAC Bank’s digital onboarding platform (e-KYC), customers nationwide can now open accounts seamlessly and within minutes.

Through the e-KYC facility, expatriates can now open BRAC Bank accounts seamlessly from abroad within a short time. This year, the bank also introduced the Expatriate Virtual Savings Account, enabling customers to access BRAC Bank’s internet banking app Astha instantly with a virtual debit card. With this feature, they can conveniently transfer funds to any account or wallet worldwide, pay utility bills, open or close FDs and DPSs, and monitor account balances and transactions – all from anywhere in the world.
