School leaders come under one roof to discuss key issues on inclusion and student wellbeing
Pearson, a global leader in education, recently convened the Principal Network Meet 2025 at Le Méridien Dhaka in the capital, bringing together education leaders to address critical challenges in supporting learners with special needs and promoting mental health in schools, a press release said.
Abdullah Al Mamun Liton, Regional Development Manager of Pearson Bangladesh and Nepal, and Jannatul Ferdous Sigma, Regional Development Manager of Pearson Bangladesh, inaugurated the event, which drew participation from prominent figures in Bangladesh’s education sector. Around 200 principals from English Medium schools from all over Bangladesh attended the Principal Meet.
Maxim Raimann, Exams Director Bangladesh, British Council, spoke about the need for fair and accessible assessment for all learners. Kathryn Booth, Director of Pearson School Qualifications, followed with her speech and presentation, where she discussed the patterns of global learners and the role of Peason in shaping the learner’s future. She further shared the updates and initiatives of Peason Edexcel.
The conference centred on two pivotal themes. The session ‘Spotlight on Inclusion: Supporting Learners with Special Needs’ examined practical approaches for educators to ensure accessibility and meaningful participation for all students, regardless of their learning challenges. Sabrina shaheed, Principal of Sir John Wilson school also discussed on how they support learners with special education needs for an inclusive learning environment.
This was followed by a panel discussion exploring ‘Student Well-being and Mental Health in the 21st Century School,’ which brought together education leaders who addressed the mounting concerns around psychological support systems in academic institutions. The discourse also underscored the need to integrate mental health awareness into everyday school culture.
The panelists expressed that every child deserves to feel supported and understood in their classroom and the focus on inclusion and mental health is not only improving education but also shaping a generation that values empathy and respects differences.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of the Outstanding Pearson School Awards 2025, where 36 schools were awarded the Pearson School Award for their academic excellence.
The network meet reinforced Pearson’s ongoing dedication to advancing educational equity and nurturing comprehensive student development across Bangladesh’s academic landscape.
