Md Jahidul Islam acts as judge at Babhasi festival

The activities of the Babhasi International Film Festival have started again. The Daily Sun journalist Md Jahidul Islam has already started working as a judge for the festival for 2024-2025. In the meantime, the work of screening and selecting films is underway, said Jahidul Islam.
The film festival, organised by the Bangladesh-India-Singapore (Babhasi) tri-nation initiative, has so far received a total of 71 films from both the country and abroad. In the initial observation, 26 films have been selected for the second round in the light of the discretion of the jury board. Then, 7 films from the 26 films of the second round will be selected for the final round.
Md Jahidul Islam said, “It is a great pleasure and honour for me to get the opportunity to work as a judge for the Babhasi International Film Festival. As an entertainment journalist, it is also a matter of great pride for me.”
The first, second and third places will be determined after the best scriptwriter, producer, artiste, cinematographer, makeup artiste, art director, editing and background music are selected after a merit check. The Babhasi Film Festival authorities are providing this opportunity to develop the talents of newcomers every year based on the merit of the work according to the category.
The best people who have emerged as winners from this event in the past are currently performing in the media with their own talents.
Popular actors Akhomo Hasan and Shamim Zaman are also performing as judges at the festival.
