GUB to host ITD 2025, advancing sustainable business and law

Green University of Bangladesh is set to host the 4th international conference titled Innovation and Transformation for Development (ITD) 2025. The aim of the conference is to foster innovation, transformation, and sustainable development through promoting intellectual discourse and collaboration among academics, researchers, professionals, and industry leaders around the globe, a press release said.

Jointly organized by the Faculty of Business Studies and the Faculty of Law, the conference will be held on 27 and 28 November at the university’s permanent campus located in Purbachal American City, Dhaka.

The details were shared at a press conference held on Tuesday at the Shafiqul Kabir Auditorium of the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU). The briefing also highlighted Green University’s commitment to research-based solutions, innovation, and sustainable development.

This year’s theme for the conference is: “Advancing Sustainable Business and Law: Integrating Environment, Society, and Governance in Emerging Economies.” Scholars, researchers, professionals, and business experts from around the world will gather to share their research, ideas, innovations, and insights related to sustainable development.

According to the organizers, around 192 research papers were submitted from different countries, of which 113 papers have been selected for presentation. Notably, 58 papers were submitted from the Department of Law alone.

The press briefing was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of Green University, Professor Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, as the chief guest. Also present were Professor Dr. Mohammad Tareque Aziz, Associate Professor Dr. Md. Aliur Rahman, and Mashroor Mushtaq.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin said, “By engaging academics, industry leaders, and policymakers, we aim to expose our students to international research and practical knowledge, preparing them to contribute meaningfully to national and global development.”

The convener of the 4th ITD Conference, Professor Dr. Mohammad Tareque Aziz, stated,

“With the participation of renowned teachers and researchers from Bangladesh, as well as scholars from countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan, this conference will become a global platform for knowledge exchange. It will also create a rare opportunity for Bangladesh’s emerging researchers and students to learn from global perspectives.”

Throughout the two-day conference, selected research papers will be presented across multiple sessions. Keynote speeches, paper presentations, and panel discussions will cover a variety of timely topics, including sustainable finance, ESG reporting, digital transformation, environmental law, AI ethics, human rights, and corporate governance. The best papers will receive special awards, continuing the ITD series’ tradition of recognizing research excellence.

Participants will also have the option to join the ITD 2025 conference virtually, alongside on-campus attendance.
