Universal Medical organizes top ten genius awards

Universal Medical College Hospital in the capital has organized the “Top Ten Genius Intern Doctors @ Dhaka University Awards 2025” for the first time in the country to recognize the ten talented young doctors who achieved the highest results in the MBBS Final Professional Examination-May 2025 held under Dhaka University this year, a press release said.

This special event held at the Rawa Convention Center in Mohakhali on Saturday, November 29, 2025 afternoon became a gathering of encouragement, recognition and dedication of young doctors. The general public is not aware of this merit list in the medical examination, so this special event is to inform this special news and to recognize and inspire talented doctors.

Professor Dr. Nazmul Hossain, Director General of the Directorate of Health Education, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, was present as the chief guest of the event.

He said, “Bangladesh’s medical education is gradually moving towards world-class standards. Today’s talented young doctors will lead the healthcare system of the future. Their success makes the nation more optimistic.” He sincerely thanked Universal Medical College Hospital for taking such an initiative.

The program was presided over by Universal Medical College Hospital Chairman and female entrepreneur Preeti Chakraborty.

The hospital’s Managing Director and the main initiator of this honor, Dr. Ashish Kumar Chakraborty, delivered the welcome speech.

He said, “This is our initiative to improve the quality of medical education, develop talent and encourage innovative power. Universal Medical College is always committed to respecting talent and practicing humanity.”

The program was addressed as special guests by— Professor Dr. Md. Mostaq Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Dhaka University; Professor Dr. Uttam Kumar Pal, Principal, Universal Medical College; Prominent media personality and debater Dr. Abdun Noor Tushar and Professor Dr. AKM Khalequzzaman Dipu, Head of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Universal Medical College Hospital. In their respective speeches, all of them referred to this event as a groundbreaking initiative in medical education in Bangladesh. And the speakers highly praised Universal Medical College Hospital for this exceptional event.

Dr. Jannatul Ferdous, Mymensingh Medical College — obtained number 1307 4th. Dr. Mithila Farzana, Dhaka Medical College — obtained number 1293 5th. Dr. Iffat Aman Atri, Mugda Medical College — Obtained number 1286 6th. Dr. A. R. Jannatul Naima Rashni, Dhaka Medical College — Obtained number 1282 7th. Dr. Shah Md. Farid Uddin, Dhaka Medical College — Obtained number 1276 8th. Dr. Parmita Debnath, Mymensingh Medical College — Obtained number 1275 (pair) 8th. Dr. Kazi Jannatul Shashiprava, Mymensingh Medical College — Obtained number 1275 (pair) 10th. Dr. Stuti Rimal (Nepal), Dhaka Medical College — Obtained number 1268 The chief guest, special guests, program president Preeti Chakraborty and managing director Dr. Ashish Kumar Chakraborty presented the award crest, medal, certificate and Littman Classic Stethoscope to these top 10 talented intern doctors. The guests were also presented with mementos.

Universal Medical College Hospital said that this event will be continued in the future as well, so that achievements and talent in medical education are further developed. The entire program was hosted by Channel i’s renowned presenter Samantha Islam.
