A two-day workshop on “Enterprise Level Preparedness for LDC Graduation in Line with National Strategies” was jointly organized by Plastic Products Business Promotion Council (PPBPC) and Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BPGMEA) on 08 and 09 December 2025 at Hotel 71, Bijoynagar, Dhaka. Nahid Afroz, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce (Export-1) and Chief Executive Officer, Business Promotion Council, Ministry of Commerce was present as special guest at the event, a press release said.
Shamim Ahmed, President, Bangladesh Plastic Products Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BPGMEA) presided over the event. Hafizur Rahman, Former Additional Secretary, WTO Cell, Ministry of Commerce presented the keynote address at the event. The main topic of the workshop was how to overcome the challenges that the plastic sector will face in the export of Bangladesh after it becomes a developing country in 2026. Above all, the advantages and disadvantages of the sector were highlighted.
Also present at the event were Dr. Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Chief Executive Officer, FBCCI Innovation and Research Center, Sheikh Mohammad Abdur Rahman, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Deputy Project Director, EC4J Project and Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Deputy Secretary and Deputy Project Director, EC4J Project.
The concluding ceremony of the two-day workshop was held on December 9, 2025. Dr. Razzaqul Islam, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Director, Business Promotion Council was present at the concluding workshop. A S M Kamal Uddin, former President, BPGMEA, Quazi Anwarul Haque, Vice President, BPGMEA, ATM Syeedur Rahman Bulbul, Director, BPGMEA and Narayan Chandra Dey, Secretary General, BPGMEA were also present.
