Dhaka: The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB), in collaboration with the ICT Division (EDGE Project), Government of Bangladesh, will organize an international conference titled “Building Trust and Sustainability Through Data Governance” on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, at the Bangladesh–China Friendship Conference Centre (BCFCC), Dhaka.
The conference aims to foster informed dialogue on data governance, data protection, and the role of institutional and professional frameworks in building trust and ensuring sustainable digital transformation. At a time when data-driven decision-making is central to economic growth and public service delivery, the event will bring together policymakers, global experts, development partners, and professional accountants to share insights, best practices, and policy perspectives.
Mr. Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Hon’ble Chief Adviser and Hon’ble Adviser to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology, will attend the conference as the Chief Guest. The event will also feature distinguished international and national speakers, including Mr. Jeam Pesme, Division Director of Bangladesh and Bhutan World Bank. Mr. Jean Bouquot, President of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), as Guest of Honour, and Mr. Shish Haider Chowdhury, ndc, MCIPS, Secretary, ICT Division, as Special Guest.
The day-long conference will include three technical sessions focusing on translating data protection and governance policies into practice, benchmarking Bangladesh’s data governance framework against global standards, and empowering professional accountants in data stewardship and compliance.
Through this initiative, ICMAB reaffirms its commitment to supporting policy development, professional excellence, and sustainable governance in Bangladesh’s evolving digital ecosystem.
