Eminent journalist and human rights activist Lion Shahidul Islam Khokon has been appointed as the Chief Executive Coordinator of the Bangladesh Branch of the United Nations-recognized World Citizens Association and Human Rights/UN NGO (AWC). On 25/12/2025, the National Director of the United Nations-recognized World Citizens Association and Human Rights/UN NGO Bangladesh Branch handed over the ID card and appointment letter signed by Preeti Sarman. Besides, journalist Shahidul Islam Khokon, he is the joint editor of the national daily Agnishikha, CEO of the government-registered Sk News 14 (news agency), joint general secretary of the Bangladesh Press Club Central Committee, and the central coordinator of the human rights organization Law and Human Rights Society Bangladesh and the president of the Dhaka Divisional Committee.
