Smart Academy and Smart Foundation, an affiliate of the country’s top technology company Smart Technologies (BD) Limited, have awarded scholarships to 111 meritorious students in Ramganj upazila of Lakshmipur district. The scholarships were awarded at a function organized at the Smart Academy premises on Tuesday (January 6, 2026).
Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Managing Director of Smart Technologies (BD) Limited, was present as the chief guest at the function. He handed over scholarship checks, certificates and gifts to the students.
Among the scholarship recipients, there are 78 students from class V and 33 from class VIII. Along with a total cash scholarship of Tk 5 lakh, each student was given a certificate and a book on technology. In addition, the top three meritorious students in two categories were given special prizes of 2 laptops, 2 tablet PCs and a bundle of educational materials.
Mohammad Zahirul Islam said at the event, “On December 12, 2025, nearly seven hundred students from 95 schools in Ramganj Upazila participated in our scholarship exam. 111 students have been selected for the scholarship on the basis of merit through strict and transparent evaluation.”
Ramganj Upazila Academic Advisor Sharifullah Ash Shams, Ramganj Upazila Assistant Education Officer Md. Saiful Islam and Smart Distribution Chairman Khairul Bashar Selim were present as special guests at the event organized under the chairmanship of Smart Academy Principal Mahbubar Rahman.
The speakers at the event urged the students to be more focused on their studies and expressed hope that such initiatives of Smart to promote education will continue in the future.
