The programme was jointly organised by the travel and tourism publication The Bangladesh Monitor and Galaxy Group, the leading travel-trade conglomerate in the country, a press release said.

Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh, attended the award presentation ceremony as the Chief Guest at the InterContinental Dhaka ballroom. The event brought together a distinguished gathering of leaders from the tourism, hospitality, and business sectors.

Ahmed Yusuf Walid, President and CEO of Galaxy Bangladesh Group; Ziaul Karim, Head of Communications and External Affairs, Eastern Bank PLC; and Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor of The Bangladesh Monitor also spoke on the occasion among others.

BTTHA 2025 recognised a broad range of organisational and individual achievements across the tourism and hospitality sectors. In total, 27 organisations and 8 individuals were honoured in 29 categories.

Additionally, the prestigious ‘Jury’s Lifetime Achievement Award’ was presented to Shahid Hamid, Chairman of the PATA Bangladesh Chapter, in recognition of his invaluable contributions to Bangladesh’s hospitality sector over more than five decades.

The BTTHA 2025 was officially launched on 25 September 2025, inviting nominations from prospective candidates. A total of 89 organisations and individuals submitted more than 150 nominations. A distinguished Jury Board comprising industry experts, environmentalists, and representatives from traditional and social media shortlisted nominees across all categories.

To ensure transparency and broader engagement in the selection process, the shortlisted nominations were opened for public and industry voting online from 11 November to 21 December 2025. Nearly 20,000 people participated in the voting process. In selecting the winners, the Jury considered multiple criteria, including the quality of nominations, voting results, overall public perception, and on-site evaluations. Jury members also visited several properties and conducted interviews with organisational representatives and individual nominees.

Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor of The Bangladesh Monitor, said: “The BTTHA Awards are designed to recognise and inspire stakeholders in Bangladesh’s tourism and hospitality sector to continuously raise standards of service and professionalism.”

The BTTHA 2025 programme was supported by Galaxy Group as the Lead Sponsor, Eastern Bank PLC as the Banking Partner, InterContinental Dhaka as the Hospitality Partner, and BuyTickets as the Travel Partner.
