Photography is not merely the act of pressing a shutter—it is an act of witnessing. It is memory shaped by light, emotion translated into form, and stories preserved long after moments have passed. In 2026, OPPO Bangladesh, in collaboration with Pathshala South Asian Institute of Photography, presents a national photography contest that pays homage to this enduring power of the image—the OPPO Reno15 Series 5G Photography Contest, inspired by the theme Every Photo Tells A Story, a press release said.

Under the unifying theme Every Photo Tells A Story, the contest invites submissions across five categories—Portrait, Nature and Wildlife, Street and Architecture, Low Light, Heritage and Culture. Participants are encouraged to submit photographs that go beyond visual appeal, images that reflect character, emotion, identity, and context. Regardless of category, every entry is expected to carry narrative depth and a clear sense of storytelling intention.

OPPO has long believed that technology reaches its highest value when it enables human expression. With the Reno15 Series 5G, the brand continues to advance mobile imaging capabilities that empower photographers to capture detail, emotion, depth, and atmosphere with remarkable fidelity, whether in daylight, low-light conditions, or complex real-world environments. This philosophy finds a natural partner in Pathshala South Asian Institute of Photography, an institution internationally respected for its contribution to documentary practice, visual education, and cultural storytelling. Together, OPPO and Pathshala present a platform that honors photographic discipline while encouraging creative freedom, offering photographers a space where stories matter as much as images.

The evaluation of submissions will be led by a distinguished jury panel comprising some of Bangladesh’s most respected figures in documentary and educational photography. The jury includes Khandaker Tanvir Murad, Head of the Photography Department at Pathshala South Asian Institute of Photography, along with renowned documentary photographers Rajoyana Chowdhury Xenia, Shafiqul Alam Kiron, and KM Asad. Drawing on decades of collective experience, the jury will assess entries based on narrative strength, authenticity, emotional resonance, and contextual understanding, ensuring that winning photographs are selected for their lasting impact rather than surface-level aesthetics.

Participation in the contest has been designed to be simple yet reflective. Interested photographers can visit the dedicated contest platform at https://opposhot.com/, register or log in using their mobile number and email address, select their preferred photography category, upload a high-quality photograph in JPEG or PNG format, and include a short written story that describes the context, emotion, or narrative behind the image. This storytelling element lies at the heart of the contest, reinforcing the belief that a photograph reaches its fullest expression when paired with intention and meaning.

The OPPO Reno15 Series 5G Photography Contest offers a thoughtfully designed reward structure that recognizes excellence while investing in creative futures. The Grand Winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of BDT 100,000, the latest OPPO flagship smartphone, and a professional photography course at Pathshala. The Second Prize winner will be awarded BDT 50,000 in cash, a latest OPPO smartphone, and a Pathshala photography course, while the Third Prize winner will receive BDT 30,000 in cash, along with a latest OPPO smartphone and the same educational opportunity. In addition, five winners will be selected from each of the five photography categories, and each category winner will receive a cash prize of BDT 20,000, a latest OPPO smartphone, and a Pathshala photography course.

Beyond prizes and recognition, the OPPO Reno15 Series 5G Photography Contest aspires to become a living archive of contemporary Bangladesh. Each submission contributes to a collective visual chronicle of the nation—its people, its spaces, its traditions, and its transformations—captured through thousands of individual perspectives. Emerging photographers and seasoned professionals alike are invited to share how they see the world and which stories they believe are worth preserving.

The contest opens for submissions on 2nd February 2026 and will remain open until 30th April 2026, welcoming photographers from across Bangladesh to participate in a meaningful dialogue between technology and storytelling. The winners of the competition will be officially announced on 15th May 2026, marking the culmination of a nationwide celebration of visual narratives.

From February to April 2026, OPPO and Pathshala extend an open invitation to photographers who believe that images can speak louder than words, that light can carry emotion, and that a single frame can hold an entire story. Let your photograph speak. Let your story remain. Because every photo tells a story—and yours deserve to be seen.
