NSU concludes 10th National Career Fair, stresses industry-academia links

North South University (NSU) concluded its three-day 10th National Career Fair 2026 at the NSU Plaza on 03 February 2026, highlighting the university’s commitment to preparing students for the job market and strengthening collaboration between academia and industry. Organized by the Career and Placement Center (CPC) and presented by MGH Group, the fair brought together leading employers, industry professionals, and aspiring graduates on a single platform, a press release said.

Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of NSU; M. A. Kashem, Founder Life Member & Former Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Benajir Ahmed, Founder Life Member and Former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, NSU; Rehana Rahman, Member of the Board of Trustees, NSU; Taskeen Ahmed, President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI); Professor Nasar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor of NSU; Professor Abdur Rob Khan, Treasurer of NSU and Dr. Farzana Nahid, Director of the Career and Placement Center (CPC), North South University, were present at the closing ceremony along with senior officials, faculty members, representatives from participating organizations, and guests.

Professor Abdur Rob Khan, Treasurer of NSU, said, “This occasion created a meaningful opportunity for our students, alumni, and participants from other universities to submit their CVs, explore career prospects, and gain insights into employment opportunities. It allowed them to better understand the professional landscape and prepare themselves for future careers.”

Professor Nasar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice-Chancellor of NSU, stated, “This is truly a nationwide occasion where students can apply their academic knowledge to real-life problem solving. With over a hundred booths sharing their visions, students had the chance to present their CVs and see how their skills align with industry needs.”

Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of NSU, remarked, “This is a great gathering for young people who are actively seeking to shape their careers. Many students often wonder where the opportunities are and how they can enter their chosen professions. NSU remains committed not only to its own students but also to the learners from institutions across the country by providing a platform where they can receive career guidance and interact directly with corporate leaders.”

Ms. Rehana Rahman, Member of the NSU Board of Trustees, expressed appreciation for the organizers, saying, “Thank you to everyone who arranged such a wonderful program. I hope that next year’s career fair will be even more vibrant and impactful.”

Benajir Ahmed, Founder Life Member and Former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, NSU, stated, “As we arrive at the closing ceremony of this remarkable career fair, I feel immense pride and gratitude. Over the past three days, the campus transformed into a vibrant bridge between education and employment, between dreams and opportunities, and between our graduates and the global market. To our students, this fair is not only about securing a job; it is about discovering what you value and how you want to contribute to the world.”

Taskeen Ahmed, President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), said, “During the past three days, this campus has hosted more than booths and interviews; it has fostered conversations about ambition, opportunity, and the future of Bangladesh. That, in my view, is the real success of the fair.”

  1. A. Kashem, Member of the Board of Trustees, encouraged students to think beyond graduation. He remarked, “A degree alone is not enough; you should also think about contributing to your country. Bangladesh needs skilled professionals, innovators, and responsible citizens. As technologies like artificial intelligence advance rapidly, young people must be ready to face challenges and make the most of new opportunities.”

Delivering the vote of thanks, Dr. Farzana Nahid, Director of the Career and Placement Center (CPC), expressed heartfelt appreciation to all partners and participants. She said, “It is my privilege to extend sincere gratitude to everyone whose support made this event a remarkable success. Alongside our NSU students, over 3,000 students from other universities visited the fair over the past three days, demonstrating tremendous enthusiasm for career development across the country.”

Over the three days, the fair hosted numerous national and multinational companies, offering recruitment opportunities, career counseling, and interactive sessions for students and fresh graduates. The event once again positioned North South University as a leading institution in promoting employability and supporting Bangladesh’s future workforce.
