Building on the success of its 2025 collaboration, Eastern Bank Limited PLC (EBL) has expressed its intent to continue supporting SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh in 2026, focusing on youth skill development and clean water access for vulnerable communities, a press release said.

The renewed partnership will strengthen two flagship initiatives: the Vocational Renewal Project and the Clean Water Program, contributing directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on education, employment, health, and water security.

Ashraf Uz Zaman, Head of Planning, Strategy and Governance, Eastern Bank handed over two cheques to Dr. Md. Enamul Haque, National Director, SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh for the programme at a ceremony held at the bank’s head office in Dhaka.

Under the Vocational Renewal Project, EBL will support skill-based training for vulnerable youth through the SOS Vocational Training Centre (VTC). The program focuses on market-relevant technical skills, certification, job-readiness, and employment linkage to ensure long-term economic independence.

“At Eastern Bank, we believe sustainable development begins with empowered youth. By investing in vocational skills, we are enabling young people to build dignified livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to society,” said Ashraf Uz Zaman, Head of Planning, Strategy and Governance, Eastern Bank.

In parallel, EBL will support the installation of 16 Sustainable Model Deep Tube Wells under the Clean Water Program for Vulnerable Communities. Each system will include a submersible pump, water tank, and solar panel, ensuring environmentally friendly and long-term access to safe drinking water.).

“Meaningful partnerships like this allow us to go beyond immediate support and invest in sustainable change—where children grow healthier and youth step confidently into the future,” said Dr. Md. Enamul Haque, National Director, SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh.
