The ATF initiative offers over USD 100 million in competitive grant funding aimed at strengthening research capacity and institutional development in higher education. The workshop was held on Monday, 9 February 2026, at NSU’s NAC Building to guide eligible faculty members in preparing strong, compliant, and competitive proposals ahead of the UGC submission deadline of 22 February 2026.

The session was graced by the Vice Chancellor of NSU, Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, as the Chief Guest. Special guests included Professor Nasar Uddin Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor of NSU, and Professor Abdur Rob Khan, Treasurer of NSU. The session was chaired by Professor Halimur Rashid Khan, Director of IQAC.

The workshop was conducted by Professor Dr. Md. Moninoor Roshid, Research Coordinator Specialist of the HEAT Project (UGC), who provided step-by-step guidance on proposal drafting, documentation and compliance requirements, submission procedures, and key dos and don’ts. Participants also had the opportunity to seek clarification on technical and procedural issues.

To further support faculty applicants, IQAC announced plans to organize a grant-writing retreat in mid-February to facilitate peer consultation and feedback prior to final submission.

NSU management expressed confidence that the initiative will result in high-quality proposals contributing to research excellence, academic transformation, and national development.
