Ashiyan Group, one of the country’s leading industrial groups, has organized a prayer and iftar mahfil for the soul of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and for the welfare of the country and the nation. Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Dr. Shafiqur Rahman conducted a special munajat at this colorful event organized at the Ashyan Medical College and Hospital grounds, a press release said.
People from different classes and professions, scholars, political leaders, prominent figures of the society, prominent people of the area and ordinary worshippers participated in this event held in the holy atmosphere of Ramadan. The mahfil was filled with religious discussions, Quran recitation, prayers and an atmosphere of mutual harmony. According to those present, the message of mutual respect and unity given by this mahfil, rising above political differences, has given rise to positive discussions in the political arena as well.
At the special invitation of Nazrul Islam Bhuiyan, Chairman of the Ashiyan Group, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman joined the gathering and offered a special prayer to the Almighty God, remembering the current situation of the country and the contribution of Begum Khaleda Zia. His participation and sincere prayers are being considered as a unique example of national solidarity in political and social circles. In his prayer, he prayed for peace and prosperity of the country, nation and Muslim Ummah, which evoked deep emotions among the guests present.
In his speech as the chief guest, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman emphasized the importance of Ramadan, the wealth of faith, the attainment of piety and the following of the Quran and Sunnah, and said, ‘We are very fortunate that Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, has given us the wealth of faith. In His infinite mercy, He has given us life, health and the opportunity to reach the holy month of Ramadan – Alhamdulillah.’
He said that when the month of Rajab arrives, believers pray – ‘Allahumma barik lana fi Rajaba wa Sha’ban, wa balligna Ramadan’. Allah accepted that prayer and granted the Muslims the ability to reach Ramadan. In the light of the verses of the Quran, he said that the Quran was revealed in the month of Ramadan – which clearly indicates the difference between right and wrong. Fasting has been made obligatory for piety To achieve. If piety is achieved, people will love Allah’s creation, stay away from injustice and oppression, and peace and harmony will be established in the society.
Quoting the Hadith, he said that in a Quran-based society, such security is established that even if a woman travels a long way alone, she will not fear anyone except Allah. He called upon the worshippers present to promise to know, understand the Quran and implement it in every aspect of life this Ramadan. He said, ‘Fasting is for Allah, and He Himself will reward it.’ During the prayer session, he sought forgiveness for the soul of Begum Khaleda Zia and prayed for peace and prosperity for the country, nation and Muslim Ummah.
Md. Nazrul Islam Bhuiyan, Chairman of the event organizer, Ashiyan Group, became very emotional during the speech of the president. He mentioned that although he was not directly involved in the active position of any political party in his personal life, he had led his life and business by keeping the ideals of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia in his heart.
