Nagad, MTB partner to expand digital transactions

Nagad Limited and Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) have signed an agreement aimed at expanding interoperable transaction services across the country, a press release said.

The agreement was recently signed at Mutual Trust Bank PLC’s head office. Under the arrangement, Mutual Trust Bank will act as the settlement bank for NPSB and Bangla QR transactions conducted through Nagad’s mobile financial service platform.

The initiative is expected to play a significant role in strengthening interoperable cashless transaction services, thereby contributing to the development of a robust digital economy and the establishment of smart governance in Bangladesh.

On behalf of Nagad Limited, Administrator Md. Motasem Billah, while Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mutual Trust Bank PLC, represented their organizations at the signing ceremony. Senior officials from both institutions were also present.

During the event, officials from both organizations expressed optimism about fostering a more collaborative partnership in the days ahead to further enrich the country’s digital transaction ecosystem. They also emphasized their commitment to continuing joint initiatives to expand digital payment services nationwide.
