Islami Bank digital services simplify charity, Hajj-Umrah planning

Hajj and Umrah Savings: As part of a long-term financial plan for individuals who interested in performing Hajj and Umrah, Islami Bank offers the Mudaraba Hajj Savings Account and Mudaraba Umrah Savings Scheme. These two schemes assist customers in saving money step-by-step and facilitate the performance of the holy Hajj and Umrah through financial and mental preparation.

Customers can seamlessly manage necessary expenses for performing Hajj or Umrah—such as visas, airfare, accommodation, meals, and other costs—through advance preparation.

An individual wishing to perform Hajj can open a Mudaraba Hajj Savings Account for a tenure of one to twenty-five years, depending on their capability and plan. Customers can determine the installment size based on the account tenure according to their planning and financial capacity, saving money for Hajj becomes much easier. If a customer wishes to perform Hajj before the predetermined tenure of the account, they can do so by depositing the remaining balance of the fixed Hajj cost for that year along with the amount accumulated in their Mudaraba Hajj Savings Account.

Similarly, an individual wishing to perform Umrah can open an Umrah Savings account amass monthly installments basis for a tenure of one to twelve years, according to their capability and plan. Individuals aged 18 or above can open this account in their own name, and in the case of minors, parents or legal guardians can open the account in their name. These schemes offer the benefit of long-term savings plans and maximum profits for performing the holy Hajj and Umrah.

These accounts can be opened from home through the CellFin app, or at any branch, sub-branch, or agent outlet using a National ID (NID) and a photograph.

Customers can now provide Sadaqah or donations instantly by scanning a QR code via CellFin or any other banking and mobile financial service (MFS) apps. This digital facility for swiftly delivering funds to local mosques, orphanages, Lillah boarding houses, and charitable institutions is recognized as a brilliant innovation in building a Digital Bangladesh while accelerating social development. There is a provision to automatically deposit monthly installments for all accounts and donation funds by providing “Special Instructions” via CellFin, i-Banking, or at any branch/agent outlet.
