EBL partners with Proyash Institute for special needs children

Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has entered into a strategic partnership with Proyash Institute of Special Education to strengthen the school’s infrastructure for children with special needs, a press release said.

To support the initiative, Ziaul Karim, Head of Communications and External Affairs and Head of CSR Desk of EBL, formally handed over a cheque to Colonel Md. Altaf Ali, psc, Executive Director and Principal, Proyash Institute of Special Education, at a ceremony held at the bank’s head office in Dhaka.

Proyash, a non-profit charitable institution administered by the Bangladesh Army under the guidance of the Chief of Army Staff, is dedicated to the holistic development of children with special needs. Its programs include Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education (IEQE), Skill-Based Training (SBT), Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA), therapeutic services, and other developmental initiatives.

Speaking on the occasion, Ziaul Karim, said, “Proyash Institute has been providing an excellent service to the special need requirement communities by providing the proper therapy, vocational and skill-based training and transforming them into active member of the society and providing the much-needed relief to the parents who are carrying the lifelong challenges. We are extremely delighted to be a part of this noble initiative undertaken by Proyash’’.

On behalf of Proyash, Md. Altaf Ali, said “With the generous support of EBL, Proyash continues to strengthen individuals with special needs by developing essential skills, enhancing employability, and fostering social acceptance—empowering them to live with dignity and be valued members of an inclusive and compassionate society.”

From Proyash Afroza Sultana, Vice Principal; Kawsari Warda, HR Incharge; Sultan Ahmed, Head Teacher; and from EBL Md. Abdullah Al Mamun FCS, Company Secretary; Maj. Md. Abdus Salam, psc (Retd), Head of Administration; and Md. Maskur Reza, FCA, Head of Business Information Systems were present among others on the occasion.
