BASIS election schedule announced, voting on June 27

The biennial election for the 2026-2028 term of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) will be held on June 27. For this purpose, the Election Board has announced the full schedule, a press release said.

According to the announced schedule, the election will be held to form an 11-member executive council. The schedule was officially announced on April 5, 2026 as part of the election organization.

According to the schedule, the last date for submitting the necessary documents for membership renewal and becoming a voter has been set as April 27, 2026. During this, updated trade license, income tax certificate, nomination letter of the organization’s representative, photo and copy of national identity card will have to be submitted.

In the next step, the draft voter list will be published on May 7. Objections to this list will be accepted from May 8 to 10 and appeals will be settled from May 11 to 13. After that, the final voter list will be published on May 14 and 15.

The time for collecting and submitting nomination papers of candidates to participate in the election has been fixed from May 15 to 21. After the scrutiny, the preliminary list of candidates will be published from May 22 to 28. Appeals regarding the cancellation of nominations will be accepted from May 28 to 30 and will be settled between May 31 and June 2.

The list of valid candidates will be published on June 3. The time for withdrawal of candidatures has been fixed from June 4 to 6 and the final list of candidates will be published on the same day.

The election voting will be held on June 27, Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm. The results will be announced on the same day after the voting.

If there is any objection regarding the election, it can be submitted on June 28. The final results will be announced on July 1 after the appeal hearing. If necessary, the revised results based on the appeal can be published on July 8.

The Election Board said that they reserve the right to make changes to the schedule if necessary. In addition, all information related to the election will be published on the notice board and website.
