“With the help of technology, entrepreneurs are now able to deliver their products or services to any part of the world. This is the right time for Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to enter the global market. We are working to create an ecosystem and policies for that purpose. We are committed to promoting the information and communication technology sector to global standards.” This was said by Rehan Asif Asad, Advisor to the Honorable Prime Minister on Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology and Science and Technology. He said these things while addressing the chief guest at the inauguration of the three-day ‘National Demo Day 2026’ program organized at the auditorium of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation in Agargaon, a press release said.

The Startup and Scaleup program implemented under the Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem Development (DEIED) project implemented under the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority is providing training, mentoring, networking, residential bootcamps and opportunities to present businesses to investors to enhance the capacity of entrepreneurs. Under this program, 1,091 entrepreneurs from 6 divisions of the country participated, out of which this National Demo Day has been organized from 7 to 9 April 2026 with selected entrepreneurs.

In this three-day event, entrepreneurs from 7 sectors of IT and ITES, Retail and e-commerce, SDG Impact, Education and Art and Culture, Fashion and Textile, Food and Agriculture and Healthcare are getting the opportunity to present their products and business ideas to domestic and foreign investors, banks, venture capital firms and financial institutions. About 200 entrepreneurs from different districts of the country are participating in this event.

DEIED Project Director Monjur Mohammad Shahriar said, “I have noticed that there is no shortage of ideas in Bangladesh, the shortage is actually a mindset. The startup culture in our country is not yet developing properly. But the day we start small and learn to think big, that day our initiatives will scale and change the country.”

Kazi Anwar Hossain, Secretary of the Information and Communication Technology Department, said, “Bangladesh’s startup ecosystem is standing at an important crossroads. Through the right policy support, investment flow and a combination of innovative initiatives, we can make this sector sustainable and globally competitive.”

The event, chaired by Kazi Anwar Hossain, Secretary of the Information and Communication Technology Department, was also attended by Mohammad Anwar Uddin, Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, Hosna Ferdous Sumi, Senior Specialist of the Private Sector at the World Bank, Monjur Mohammad Shahriar, Director of the DEIED Project, along with representatives of domestic and foreign investors and financial institutions and concerned officials.
