The recent letter of the Ministry of Commerce dated April 7, 2026, revealed that cylinders are being sold at higher prices than the government-set price at the consumer level in different parts of the country. But LPG bottling companies are supplying cylinders at the government-set price. The National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate and the District Administrators have already been instructed to conduct a campaign against this irregularity and take strict legal action. It is our moral responsibility to reduce public suffering at this time of the current global energy crisis, a press release said.
In this situation, the LPG Operators Association of Bangladesh (LOAB) has made a request to all distributors and retailers involved in the LPG business to sell LPG at the price determined by the government.
