“Ispahani-CIU Sports Carnival 2026” was held in a festive atmosphere at Chittagong Independent University (CIU). Organized by CIU Sports Club and sponsored by Ispahani, this colorful sports festival was held at the Sicho Arena Sports Complex located in the outer signal area under Chadgaon police station in Chittagong.
Teachers, students and officials participated in this inter-university sports carnival. With everyone’s spontaneous presence, the entire venue turned into a lively gathering. The day-long event was filled with excitement of competition, friendly atmosphere and everyone’s deep interest in sports.
A total of four events were held in the carnival. 12 teams participated in the inter-university cricket tournament and presented a lively competition. The champions were Saleh Huzur SE team and the runners-up were Sher A Bangla team.
On the other hand, the final match between the two teams participating in the inter-university women’s cricket tournament was very competitive. The Red Wings team won the championship and the Aqua Warriors team won the runner-up.
21 teams participated in the girls’ badminton tournament, where the Red Wings team won the championship and the Black Hawks team won the runner-up by showing excellent skills.
Besides, there was equal excitement in the teachers’ and officials’ badminton tournament. In this event held with the participation of 6 teams, the Warriors team won the championship and the Legend Strikers team won the runner-up.
At the end of the competition, the prizes were given to the winners by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. M. M. Nurul Absar, Ispahani Tea Limited Manager (Tea Trade) Tasbir Hakim, CIU Registrar Anjuman Banu Lima, CIU Sports Club Advisor Abu Sohel Mahmud, etc. . While giving the award, the Vice Chancellor highlighted the importance of sports and said that such events play an important role in the mental development, discipline and mutual harmony of students.
There was a joyful atmosphere throughout the entire event, which created a memorable experience among the participants. The organizers said that they plan to continue such sports events on a larger scale in the future.
