Robi Axiata PLC held its 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday at Kurmitola Golf Club, Dhaka, chaired by Thayaparan Sangarapillai, Chairman of the Board. Independent Directors Nasir Uddin Ahmed and Nasreen Sattar and key executives, including Managing Director and CEO Ziad Shatara participated, a press release said.
Despite challenges in 2025, including inflation and macroeconomic pressures, Robi achieved it’s highest-ever Profit after Tax of BDT 937.1 crore. Chairman Sangarapillai attributed this success to a dual-brand strategy, disciplined capital allocation, and growth in data revenues. He highlighted operational resilience, increased 4G user base, and near-zero debt as key contributors to the company’s strong financial position.
Managing Director and CEO Ziad Shatara emphasized operational efficiency and digital advancements, noting that 70% of Robi’s active subscribers are now 4G users, the highest in the industry. The company also launched 5G services, expanded its fiber network by 3,500 kilometers, and introduced Bangladesh’s first four-tier cloud platform. Sustainability efforts included plans for a 100MW solar power plant.
Robi’s earnings per share rose 33.6% to Tk 1.79, and shareholders approved a 17.5% cash dividend for 2025.
