Govt ensured hassle free journey for hajj pilgrims: Afroza

MANIKGANJ : Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita has said the government is working to ensure a hassle-free journey for the hajjis.

The civil aviation ministry and the religion affairs ministry are working together to make this year’s hajj pilgrimage successful, she said.

The minister was talking to the journalists after inaugurating the Natun Kuri Sports at Manikganj Shahid Miraj-Tapon Stadium last evening.

Most of the hajj pilgrims have already reached Saudi Arabia safely and rest of the hajjis will reach safely as per schedule, she said.

The Minister said due to shortage of aircrafts the government are purchasing new aircrafts to meet the demand of travellers.

The Civil Aviation Minister said the third terminal of Dhaka Airport is expected to inaugurate at the end of this year. Discussions in this regard in between the Bangladesh and Japan are in final stage.

The Minister said the government has no plan to change the present name of Dhaka Airport. It depends on the people demand and the Prime Minister’s direction.
