NSU’s Department of Marketing and International Business hosts a session on Building Futures and Exploring New Heights in the Outsourcing Industry

Dhaka : The Department of Marketing and International Business under the School of Business and Economics at North South University (NSU) organized a panel discussion session on career counseling titled “Building Futures and Exploring New Heights in the Outsourcing Industry” on June 18, 2025 (Wednesday), from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM in AUDI 801. The event focused on the expanding career opportunities within the outsourcing industry, a key segment of Bangladesh’s service sector. Globally, the outsourcing industry is growing at an estimated rate of 9.4% from 2023 to 2030, with the market projected to reach USD 731 billion by 2025. All speakers highlighted the rapid positive developments within the industry. The first speaker, Zayed Uddin Ahmed, CEO of ASL BPO, emphasized Bangladesh’s potential in the global outsourcing market noting, according to press release.

“This country is targeting USD 5 billion in IT-enabled service exports by 2030, making it a rising star in the global outsourcing arena.” Ms. Emrazina Islam, founder of KAZ360, and Md. Musnad E Ahmed, CEO of Sky Tech Solutions, shared personal experiences, underscoring the need for skill development and the importance of consistency and a growth-oriented mindset to thrive in this dynamic meta-market. M Mahfuzul Haque, CEO of Kin Takara Management, encouraged students to consider building their careers in this sector. Ms. Sayma Shawkat, MD of Ask Telecom Limited, highlighted the role of women in the industry, noting its support for flexible working hours, remote work opportunities, and a focus on dignity and safety—factors increasingly prioritized by global employers. Abu Daud Khan, MD and CEO of Enroute International Limited, concluded the panel discussion on behalf of BACCO, inviting students to the upcoming BPO Summit on June 20–21, 2025. He emphasized the need for skilled and capable graduates in this growing sector.

Dr. Khandker Md. Nahin Mamun, Chairperson of the Department of Marketing and International Business, shared his insights with the audience. He noted that freelancing and the BPO industry not only offer avenues for income and international exposure but also provide opportunities to absorb best practices from global firms and apply them within Bangladesh to ensure global competitiveness. The session ended with closing remarks from Prof. A K M Waresul Karim, Dean of the School of Business and Economics, who stressed the importance of cultivating a forward-thinking career mindset among Bangladesh’s youth. He encouraged students to explore non-traditional career paths through the outsourcing industry. The event marked a significant step in NSU's continued commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry. It provided a meaningful platform for aspiring professionals to understand how to build sustainable, impactful careers in Bangladesh’s evolving outsourcing landscape. The discussion also underscored the importance of conscious consumption and eco-friendly practices in shaping a better future for the country.
