DHAKA : Rotary International Bangladesh Country Coordinator and former Governor Dr. Istiak Zaman has called for establishing world peace by avoiding the path of war. Dr. Zaman made this call at a press conference organized at the National Press Club, Monday, to mark the beginning of the Rotary year. The program was chaired by Rotarian Abul Khair Chowdhury and was also addressed by former Governor Shamsul Huda, Mahmudul Hasan, Dr. Omar Sharif, Lubna Afroz and others. Zaman said that Rotary is working for world peace. Rotarians are risking their lives to carry out humanitarian activities in war and conflict areas. In addition, Rotary is working all over the world, including Bangladesh, in the service of humanity. Istiq Zaman announced the annual work program of Rotary Bangladesh for 2025-26 at the press conference. These programs included health, education, training and employment of the unemployed, provision of clean water, sanitation, environmental development, etc.
