24rth Death Anniversary of Dr. Shibtosh Roy

DHAKA : 24rth Death Anniversary of internationally reputed arsenic Researcher Dr. Shibtosh Roy. Dr. Roy died in a tragic road accident on this day (July 02, 2001) at Taraganj of Rangpur District. He had gone to the northern region of the country to identify arsenic affected patients for a joint research program of Dhaka Community Hospital, Commonwealth Research Organization of Australia (CSIRO) and the Geology Department of Dhaka University.  Dr. Roy visited all the villages under 460 Upzilla of 64 districts of the country to treat arsenic patients. He was 51 years old when he died.  Dhaka Community Hospital shows respect on his memory every year. In addition, religious function will be organized by his family for eternal peace of the departed soul, according to a press release.
