Shera radhuni season 8: After intense competition, Narayanganj’s Nisat anjum crowned champion

DHAKA : After months of intense culinary battles, stories of success and setbacks, and dramatic showdowns, ‘Shera Radhuni Season 8’ came to a close with the announcement of the ultimate winner at the grand finale. Following fierce competition across four final challenges-‘Kingkortobbobimur’, ‘Seafood Challenge’, ‘Restaurant Challenge’, and the ‘Mega Kitchen Challenge’ – Nisat Anjum from Narayanganj emerged as the winner based on the judges’ scores.  Tamanna Yesmin from Bogura secured second place, while Juairia Kamal from Naogaon claimed third, according to a press release.

is the largest cooking reality show in Bangladesh. The 8th season was officially announced at a press conference on November 5, 2024, followed by a nationwide registration drive. From thousands of applicants across the country, 48 contestants were selected through divisional auditions to participate in the Grand Audition in Dhaka. From there, the top 20 were chosen for the main studio round’s (Mohamoncho) competition. Season 8 was grander than any of its predecessors, featuring the highest number of theme-based challenges yet. Familiar rounds like ‘Ei To Banglar Shad’, ‘Swader Bishwa Bhromon’, ‘Mishtimukh’, ‘Chokh Buje Swader Khoje’, and ‘Just Bake It’ were accompanied by new additions such as ‘Midnight Craving’, ‘Fish Fusion’, ‘Moshlar Master’, and ‘Kingkortobbobimur’. The judging panel comprised chef Nayeem Ashraf, culinary expert Rahima Sultana Reeta, and actress and media personality Dilara Hanif Purnima.  After the studio round, three finalists- Nisat, Juairia, and Tamanna- advanced to professional cook-offs in Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet, and Pabna. The grand finale was held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center, where the ultimate winner was announced and prizes were awarded. The grand finale featured top executives from Square Group, the three judges, five mentors, former winners of past seasons, and various celebrities from different sectors. Musical performances by Hridoy Khan, Imran Mahmudul, and Kona energized the event. During Hridoy Khan's performance, the Top 20 contestants were reintroduced to the audience in a spectacular stage presentation. Sadia Islam Mou and her troupe delivered a dynamic dance performance, while actress Tasnia Farin electrified the stage in the final segment. A special highlight was a humorous skit performed by Purnima, where she amusingly portrayed all three judges. An engaging live quiz session involved the audience, with winners receiving the cookbook “Radhuni-r Rannaghor: Banglar Sera 100 Recipe.” Another surprise twist: popular actor Chanchal Chowdhury joined the regular host Mousumi Mou for the grand finale. With his signature wit and vibrant energy, he kept the audience thoroughly entertained throughout the evening.

The event opened with a tribute to Square’s founding chairman, the legendary Samson H. Chowdhury, on his centenary. The welcome speech was delivered by Md. Parvez Saiful Islam, Chief Operating Officer of Square Food & Beverage Ltd., who described the show as a destination for aspiring culinary stars.

The winner received BDT 15 lakh and a crest of honor. Square Food and Beverage Limited's Chief Operating Officer Md. Parvez Saiful Islam, Chief Financial Officer Abdullah Al Zabed, Head of Marketing Imtiaz Firoze, and three judges presented dummy checks and crests to the winners. The remaining Top 20 contestants also received honorary crests, while tokens of appreciation were presented to the five mentors, three judges, consultant for this season, chef Subhabrata Maitra.

The partners of the event included Mediacom Ltd. (Event Partner), Maasranga Television (Broadcast Partner), Daily Kaler Kantho (Media Partner), and Rangamati Waterfront Resort (Hospitality Partner). The spectacular grand finale was broadcast on July 25, 2025, at 7:30 PM on Maasranga Television and is also available on the official YouTube channels of Shera Radhuni and Maasranga Television.
