Collaboration to introduce esports tournaments, gaming bundles, and a localized digital ecosystem
The world of mobile gaming in Bangladesh is set to level up as PUBG MOBILE and Airtel, the youth-focused brand of Robi Axiata PLC, join forces to launch a landmark partnership. For the first time, PUBG MOBILE — one of the world’s most popular mobile games — has partnered directly with a telecom operator in Bangladesh.
The collaboration marks the beginning of a new chapter in the country’s mobile gaming and esports landscape. Under this partnership, Airtel and PUBG MOBILE will roll out a localized esports ecosystem, featuring officially hosted tournaments, exclusive gaming bundles, and a range of community-driven digital initiatives. The effort aims to give Bangladeshi youth access to a world-class mobile gaming experience.
A Memorandum of Understanding was recently signed at Robi’s corporate office in Dhaka, formalizing the collaboration between PUBG MOBILE and Airtel.
Speaking at the signing event, officials from both organizations said the initiative would pave the way for Bangladesh’s gaming community to connect, compete, and thrive in a fast-growing digital ecosystem. From esports tournaments and gaming bundles to youth campaigns and tech support, the collaboration is designed to unlock new opportunities for gamers and content creators alike.
Shihab Ahmad, Chief Commercial Officer of Robi Axiata PLC, said, “PUBG MOBILE is one of the most popular and engaging games among youth globally. Through this partnership, Airtel is making gaming and esports more accessible, inclusive, and rewarding for young people in Bangladesh.”
Fattah Ahmed, General Manager of Robi’s Esports & Gaming division, said, “Robi has always played a pioneering role in supporting Bangladesh’s gaming community. Our partnership with Tencent takes that commitment to the next level, opening exciting new possibilities for local gamers.”
Issac, Publishing Lead for South Asia at PUBG MOBILE, commented, “We see Bangladesh as an emerging force in the global gaming scene. This partnership with Airtel and Robi Axiata reflects our long-term commitment to building a sustainable digital ecosystem rooted in technology, talent, and opportunity. It will help Bangladesh’s next generation of gamers, content creators, and esports professionals compete — and succeed — on the world stage.”
