DIU host grand finale of startup world cup BD 2025

The grand finale of startup world cup Bangladesh 2025 regional phase of the world largest startup competition was held on August 14, at the International Conference Hall of Daffodil International University(DIU) campus. He Innovation and entrepreneurship Department of Daffodil International University organized this prestigious event, a press release said.

The country top 15 startup teams participated in the final round of the competition. The Robo Life Technology team became champion in the Grand Final. The members of the Champion Team are Muhammad Mohiuddin Shourov, Joy Barua Lovelu, and Ayeesha Siddika. ‘Rocket Wave’ team became 1 ST Runner Up while ‘WeGro’ team became 2 nd Runner Up in the Grand Final.  The Champion team received an investment prize of Tk 50,000 and would represent the country at the Global Startup World Cup competition to be held in San Francisco, USA, where they will have the opportunity to pitch for a US$1 million investment prize. The top 10 teams will also receive an invitation to participate in a special networking session.

The closing and award giving ceremony was attended by Mominul Islam, chairman, Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC as the chief guest while Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, chairman, Daffodil Family was present as the guest of honor. Professor Dr.  M. R. Kabir, vice chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohammad Masum Iqbal, Pro Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University and William Reichert, Partner at Pegasus Tech Ventures were also present at the program.  The country director of the Startup World Cup Bangladesh 2025 was Md.  Kamruzzaman Didar, the head of Bangladesh first Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department of Daffodil International University. The program director was Md. Ashiq Khan, a renowned young entrepreneur and CEO and founder of Live Shopping.

The Bangladesh Regional Grand Final was judged by a distinguished panel of international and nationally experienced judges. Among the international judges was William Reichert, Partner at Pegasus Tech Ventures. The national level judges included Md. Nazim Hasan Sattar, deputy managing director of SME Foundation, Nowshad Mustafa, director of SME Division of Bangladesh Bank, Shawkat Hossain, CEO of Bangladesh Venture Capital Limited, Professor Dr. Rafiuddin Ahmed of Dhaka University, Professor Dr. Rakibul Kabir of Daffodil International University and Managing Director of Exclusive Can Limited Saeed Nasir.

This competition is not just about determining the winner, but also an important initiative to showcase the country innovative generation on the international business stage. It will help young entrepreneurs develop their businesses by connecting them with investors and industry stakeholders.  Daffodil International University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department is working to develop the country startup ecosystem, which will make a significant contribution to the economy and employment. This event will strengthen the country startups and establish domestic innovation on the global stage.
