The seminar was held on Thursday (September 11) at the REHAB Secretariat under the initiative of the Real Estate Research Committee, a press release said.
Chairman of the Real Estate Research Standing Committee and Director of REHAB, Dr. Md. Harun Or Rashid, chaired the seminar, with REHAB President Md. Wahiduzzaman as the chief guest. Supervisor Professor Dr. AbulKalam Azad, Supervisor Dr. Aman Uddin Mujahid, Supervisor Assistant Proctor of Dhaka University and Associate Professor of the Department of Social Sciences, Muhammad Mahbub Kaiser, among others, were present as special guests.
REHAB Vice President (Finance) AbdurRazzak, Chairman of the Press and Media Committee Muhammad LabibBillah, and members of the Research Standing Committee were present at the event.
The seminar discussed the data prepared by Daffodil International University Research, which received the work order, and the comments and suggestions of the research supervisors were received.
This sector plays an important role in the country’s economy and is discussed at various times. Rapid urbanization, the growth of the middle class, and remittances from expatriates are driving demand for the housing sector, which contributes significantly to GDP and creates employment. However, rising prices of construction materials, economic pressures, and RAJUK’s new DAP policy have challenged the sector.
