“Contemporary Painting: Exhibition 2026 Bangladesh “

is currently underway in Houston, USA, presenting a significant platform for Bangladeshi contemporary artists on the international stage. The exhibition, presented by Gallery Eye For Art AH Inc., USA, and organized by The Blue House,  opened on March 28, 2026, and will continue until May 15, 2026, a press release said.

Curated by Ali Haider, the exhibition reflects a thoughtful selection of works that embody the depth, diversity, and evolving visual language of Bangladesh. Rooted in personal experience and cultural memory, the artworks engage with themes of nature, human connection, identity, and quiet resilience.

Participating artists include Rafiqun Nabi, Jamal Ahmed, Sheikh Afzal, Kanak Chanpa Chakma, Mohammad Iqbal, Anisuzzaman Anis, Hasura Akther, Kamal Uddin, Sahid Kazi, and Habiba Akter Rinta.

Expanding on the curatorial vision, the exhibition brings forward distinct artistic narratives: Jamal Ahmed presents his new series featuring pigeons in coconut trees, symbolizing togetherness and harmony; Bangladesh’s eminent artist Rafiqun Nabi showcases his iconic Tokai series, reflecting social realities with sensitivity and depth. Sheikh Afzal and Kanak Chanpa Chakma capture the serene and poetic beauty of the Bangladeshi landscape, while Hasura Akther introduces a tactile visual language, bringing the texture of her motherland’s soil onto canvas—creating an intimate connection between memory, land, and identity.

According to the curator’s note, “the exhibition presents a selected group of contemporary Bangladeshi artists whose practices reflect the depth, diversity, and evolving visual language of Bangladesh.”

Held at the prestigious Eye For Art AH Inc. gallery in Houston, founded in 2003, the exhibition reinforces the gallery’s long-standing reputation for promoting South Asian modern and contemporary art internationally. The show has attracted a diverse audience, where members of the South Asian diaspora alongside American visitors are engaging deeply with the artworks, creating a vibrant cross-cultural dialogue.

This exhibition also marks an important milestone for The Blue House, as it takes its first international step. Founded in 2019, The Blue House is an independent art studio dedicated to supporting contemporary artists through exhibitions, short residencies, and international collaborations. With a vision to promote Bangladeshi art on a global platform, it continues to create meaningful opportunities for artistic exchange.

Despite their distinct artistic positions, the participating artists share “a commitment to authenticity and artistic integrity,” offering “a nuanced and contemporary perspective on Bangladesh—introspective yet expansive, grounded yet globally resonant.”

The exhibition is open to visitors from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, while visits on Saturdays and Sundays are available by appointment only.

Contemporary Painting: Exhibition 2026 Bangladesh stands as a powerful testament to the global relevance of Bangladeshi art, celebrating individual artistic voices while strengthening cultural connections across borders.
