NSU architecture students win global acclaim in Claymire “Healing Space” competition

The Department of Architecture at North South University (NSU) is proud to announce an outstanding achievement by its students in the prestigious Claymire “Healing Space” international competition. This global challenge brings together emerging designers from around the world to propose innovative and therapeutic architectural solutions, a pres release said.

Demonstrating excellence on the world stage, four NSU student teams ranked within the Top 30 globally, a remarkable accomplishment that highlights their creativity, vision, and design leadership. The successful projects include: The Social Canopy – Reclaiming Human Connection Through Shared Spaces by Abrar Shiam and Borhan Uddin

Convergent: Uniting Spirits, Emotions & People by Sk. Saify Ashraf, Safin Ahmed, Abdullah Al Akib, and Saad Ibrahim

A particular highlight of this achievement is the prestigious “Editor’s Choice Award”, secured by Abrar Shiam and Borhan Uddin for their project, The Social Canopy. This special honour, bestowed by the competition’s expert judging panel, recognises entries that demonstrate exceptional vision, originality, and conceptual clarity. Receiving this award affirms the team’s project as one of the most imaginative and forward-thinking submissions in the competition.

“This collective success reflects the Department’s commitment to nurturing world-class designers who are prepared to take on global challenges,” said the Department of Architecture at NSU. “By participating in international competitions, our students transform theoretical learning into practical innovation, gaining confidence and exposure that will guide them in shaping the future built environment.”
