The annual council session 2025 of the national organization of diploma engineers, Forum of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (FDEB), has been held. At the IDEB Bhaban in Kakrail, the capital, the chief guest was the FDEB Honorable Chief Advisor Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. The keynote speaker was the FDEB Central Advisor ATM Azharul Islam. The special guests were the FDEB Central Advisor and member of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Saiful Alam Khan Milon and Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ehsan Mahbub Zubair, a press release said.
The program was presided over by FDEB General Secretary and IDEB Joint Convener Engineer Zainul Abedin and was presided over by FDEB Acting President Engineer Md. Abdus Chattar Shah.
In his speech, Engineer Md. Abdus Chattar Shah said, “We have failed to produce quality engineers with appropriate graduate degrees, so we have to hire engineers from abroad to build even small roads and bridges. However, diploma engineers have been doing most of the work of infrastructural development in urban areas for a long time. Grade 10 is not a mercy or quota for diploma engineers; this grade was legally granted by martyred President Ziaur Rahman through Geo in 1978. However, a group is systematically conspiring to put the government in trouble.”
