The anniversary and reception of Dhaka South Developers Forum (DSDF), the organization of entrepreneurs in the capital’s real estate sector, was held with a grand ceremony under the chairmanship of the forum’s president, Fakhrul Islam, and under the direction of General Secretary Dr. Md. Harun Or Rashid, a press release said.
Organized at the Fars Hotel and Resorts in the capital on Tuesday (November 4, 2025) evening, the event was attended by members of the organization, real estate businessmen, related professionals and invited guests in a cordial gathering.
The chief guest of the event was Md. Wahiduzzaman, President of the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB).
He said in his speech,
“The real estate sector is playing an important role in the country’s economic growth. If it works by maintaining customer trust and professional ethics, this sector will become stronger. Organizations like Dhaka South Developers Forum are playing an important role in increasing unity and cooperation among developers, which is commendable.”
Special guests were present:
Rehab Senior Vice President Liaquat Ali Bhuiyan. Rehab Vice President (Finance) and DSDF Chief Advisor Abdur Razzak. Mirpur Real Estate Forum President Md. Shahidul Islam and Uttara Developers Forum President Md. Ibrahim Sarkar, DSDF Vice President Hamidur Rahman Sohag, Joint Secretary Fazlur Rahman Mamun, Engineer Mahbubul Haque and Treasurer Kazi Md. Obaidullah.
The welcome speech of the event was delivered by Lion Dewan Nasirul Haque, Director of REHAB and Senior Vice President of DSDF.
President of the organization Fakhrul Islam said,
“Our main goal is to establish unity, cooperation and ethical business practices among the developers of Dhaka South region. We want to play a more effective role in urban development by working together.”
General Secretary of DSDF and REHAB Director Dr. Harun Or Rashid said,
“The real estate sector is one of the driving forces of the country’s economy. We want this sector to be more transparent, sustainable and customer-friendly.” Developer institutions are facing losses due to the long-standing non-publication of DAP amendments and RAJUK Rules-2025 in the form of a gazette. He strongly requested the Ministry of Housing and Public Works to publish the gazette as soon as possible and keep the real estate sector alive.
An open discussion was held at the event on the challenges, prospects and future directions of the developer sector. At the end, a reception was held for the founding members and associates on behalf of the organization.
