Traditionally, students gain professional exposure through internships at the end of their academic life. Breaking away from this conventional approach, bKash has introduced a unique career development initiative titled ‘bHive’, designed to connect students with the corporate environment while they are still pursuing their study, a press release said.

Through this program, students from leading universities in the country no longer need to wait until graduation to gain real-world experience. Instead, second- and third-year students have been given the opportunity to explore corporate world firsthand and develop a practical understanding of how different departments operate within an organization.

Maisha Mahwiyat Nawly, a student of Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka who dreams of starting her career in fintech, said, “When I heard about this program offered by bKash, I felt it was a great opportunity to learn about the field I want to pursue. Here, I got an idea of how a corporate office works, how projects are created, and the process of implementing them. Now, I have a much clearer sketch of how to prepare myself.”

Recently, around 180 students from 18 leading public and private universities participated in subject-based sessions, office tours, and interactive sessions with senior officials of bKash. The four-day program was divided into four segments, allowing students to closely observe and learn about the country’s top fintech company.

It is mentionable that students were selected through a specific and structured process which also helped them to gain firsthand insight into the skills, standards, and pathways required to enter competitive world.

Ferdous Yusuf, Chief Human Resources Officer of bKash, said, “One of the biggest challenges in the rapidly evolving fintech sector is developing skilled talent aligned with innovative technologies. bKash has been investing in creating future-ready professionals. Alongside our existing programs like ‘bnext’, ‘GenNext Leader’, b-ACE and ‘bTechWhiz’, bHive aims to inspire university students to envision their careers early and prepare accordingly.”

Currently, bKash ensures maximum career growth for fresh graduates through its management trainee program ‘GenNext Leader’. Besides, the paid internship program ‘bnext’ offers students hands-on experience by working directly on company projects. The b-ACE Campus Ambassador Program designates selected students as strategic partners, enabling seamless interaction between bKash and university. The newly launched bHive initiative provides students with an early understanding of the professional world and guidance on how to prepare for it during their academic years.

Thanks to these initiatives, bKash was ranked as the ‘Employer of Choice’ for three consecutive years- 2020, 2021, and 2022- among top multinational companies in the Campus Track Survey by NielsenIQ, a globally renowned research organization.
