Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has signed a bancassurance agreement with City Insurance PLC to expand customer access to innovative insurance solutions through EBL’s extensive banking network across the country, a press release said.
The agreement was formally signed at EBL’s head office in Dhaka by M. Khorshed Anowar, Deputy Managing Director, Head of Retail and SME Banking and Chief Bancassurance Officer of EBL, and A.K.M. Mohiuddin, Additional Managing Director and Head of Business Development Department of City Insurance PLC.
Under this partnership, EBL customers will gain access to a comprehensive range of non-life insurance products designed to meet diverse personal and business risk protection needs. By leveraging EBL’s nationwide distribution network and City Insurance PLC’s expertise in non-life insurance, the collaboration aims to enhance customer convenience, strengthen risk awareness, and deliver value-added insurance solutions tailored to evolving customer demands.
Through this strategic alliance, both institutions seek to contribute to building a more inclusive and resilient financial ecosystem, supporting individuals and businesses in safeguarding their assets and ensuring financial well-being.
Among others present at the signing ceremony were Sarmin Atik, Head of Liability and Wealth Management, and Md. Raquib, Head of Bancassurance and Student Banking from EBL; Mohammed Ashaduzzaman Sarkar, Company Secretary, and Sheikh Azizul Haque, Chief Financial Officer from City Insurance PLC.
