Walton, Bangladesh’s tech giant and No-1 air conditioners brand, has introduced a new model of Smart AC, what it describes as the world’s highest featured AC to date- integrating a wide range of IoT and Smart AI enabled technologies, a press release said.
This new model of AC is designed with Walton’s own invented most advanced AI features like Smart AI, AI Doctor, Offline Voice Control, Humidity Monitoring, Solar Hybrid etc.
The new model was officially unveiled by Bangladesh National Cricket Team’s star pace bowler and Walton AC’s Brand Ambassador Taskin Ahmed at a grand launching ceremony held at Walton Corporate Office in the capital recently.
The event was also attended, among others, by Walton AC’s Chief Business Officer Md. Tanvir Rahman, Head of Walton’s Residential AC Research and Innovation (R&I) Center Engineer Ariful Islam and the company’s other senior officials.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Md. Tanvir Rahman said Walton is continuously adding advanced smart features to make air conditioning “more comfortable, more intelligent, and more efficient.”
He noted that the new model integrates various innovative technologies such as solar hybrid operation, humidity monitoring, offline voice control and multiple AI-based functions and controls, which are developed by Walton AC R&I team.
He also stated that several of its technologies, developed by Walton R&I team, have received patent certification, which has strengthened the brand’s value at home and abroad, and improved competitiveness in international markets.
Rahman added that the launch once again proved that Bangladesh is capable of manufacturing innovative, high-technology smart products.
Head of Walton Residential AC R&I Centre Engr. Ariful Islam, said Walton’s in-house innovations—such as offline voice control, iconic display, intelligent inverter, and AI Doctor—have received patent certification. He explained that certification was issued after evaluation of novelty, innovative structure, real-world applicability, and industrial potential by the Department of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (DPDT) under the Ministry of Industries (Bangladesh).
He added that patent certification recognises the core concepts, mechanisms, algorithms, and operating methods under Walton’s ownership—enabling the company to commercially use these technologies exclusively, which he described as a significant milestone for Walton and for Bangladesh’s progress in air-conditioning technology.
Walton’s AC Electrical & Electronics Design In-Charge Md. Jewel Rana said the solar hybrid feature is designed to run primarily on solar power during daytime. If solar generation is insufficient, the system is intended to operate in a hybrid mode—drawing from solar first and then using grid electricity as needed. At night, the unit can run via battery-supported solar power or directly from the electrical grid, aiming to reduce overall electricity consumption.
The new model AC’s offline voice control feature enables users to control the device through voice commands without an internet connection. The new model also includes an iconic display, designed to provide users with an easy-to-read overview of AC status, operation, power use, and error information. The display functions as part of an intelligent system that supports interaction and informed use—allowing users to adjust temperature, mode, and fan speed while tracking energy-saving performance. In case of issues, error codes and likely causes are shown to help users identify problems early—potentially reducing service time and costs.
Users can also operate the new model air conditioner via a mobile app for device control, data monitoring, and configuration.
Additional unique features include: iFeel, Air Quality Index and Filter Clean Alert, Frost Clean, Air Plasma, 3in1 Converter mode technology. The iFell feature controls temperature based on the user’s location rather than only the indoor unit sensor, intended to improve comfort. Air Quality Index & Filter Clean Alert feature are designed with air-quality sensing and alerts to maintain indoor air standards and guide timely filter cleaning. The compressor in the new model uses R-32, a widely recognised environmentally friendly refrigerant. Each AC of Walton brand is released to local and global markets only after quality certification from an international standard testing lab NUSDAT-UTS.
