As Bangladesh enters its most anticipated culturally significant season of Ramadan and Eid, Visa (NYSE: V), the world leader in digital payments, is encouraging cardholders across the country to shop “Mon Khule” and be rewarded too, a press release said.

Visa’s Ramadan and Eid 2026 campaign will run from 1st February to 31st March 2026, and the Spend & Win offer will also remain valid during the same period. During the offer period, eligible Visa card transactions will qualify cardholders for a chance to win prizes, including an international trip as the grand prize, alongside televisions, smartphones, jewellery and gift vouchers. Each transaction increases the chances of winning.

“Ramadan and Eid are deeply rooted in joy, generosity and togetherness in Bangladesh. At Visa, we’re proud to celebrate these moments by rewarding cardholders as they shop for their loved ones. Our aim is to make the festive season more meaningful, using the simplicity and security of paying with Visa,” said Sabbir Ahmed, Visa’s Country Manager for Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.

Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr are a time of reflection and togetherness, and they also mark the busiest shopping period of the year in Bangladesh. The festive season contributes an estimated BDT 1.5 trillion to the national economy annually, with nearly 70% of Dhaka’s yearly apparel sales taking place around Eid. Retail, travel, food, electronics and gifting sectors typically see strong growth during this period.

Spending during Ramadan remains resilient, with families prioritizing essentials, gifts and shared experiences. At the same time, digital payments continue to gain momentum, with e-commerce activity typically rising by 40–50% during Ramadan as consumers increasingly choose secure and convenient payment methods.

Shoppers are progressively moving between physical stores and online platforms, and card payments are playing an ascending role in enabling fast, secure and convenient transactions whether for daily groceries, clothing, electronics or travel bookings. With every transaction during the campaign period, cardholders intensify their chances of winning.

As families across Bangladesh prepare to celebrate Eid, Visa’s campaign highlights both the spirit of generosity and the growing importance of digital payments in the country’s festive economy.
