Best service to pilgrims is everyone’s duty

Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain (Kaikobad) said, ‘The 2026 Hajj is approaching. This year, the Hajj activities must be carried out very smoothly and efficiently. It is the government’s responsibility to ensure the best service to the pilgrims, a press release said.

He said these things at a meeting on Hajj and Umrah management with the executive committee of the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) at the conference room of the Ministry of Religious Affairs at the Secretariat on Tuesday (April 7) morning.

The Religious Affairs Minister said, ‘All the activities necessary for smooth Hajj management must be completed as soon as possible. Everyone must make efforts to make the Hajj journey easy and smooth. Care must be taken that the pilgrims do not suffer. The way the Hajj management was completed smoothly and efficiently in the last Hajj season, it must be completed this year as well.  He requested everyone to be diligent in this regard.’

Earlier, HAAB Secretary General Farid Ahmed Majumder presented some recommendations and observations on Hajj and Umrah management. He also presented some demands on behalf of the organization.

The Minister of Religious Affairs listened to HAAB’s recommendations and demands carefully and assured to take action in accordance with the rules. At the same time, he also said that he would not do anything illegal.

At that time, Religious Affairs Secretary Munshi Alauddin Al Azad, Additional Secretary of Hajj Division Md. Ayatul Islam, Additional Secretary of Budget and Grants Division Md. Fazlur Rahman, Joint Secretary (Hajj) Dr. Manjurul Haque, HAAB President Syed Golam Sarwar, along with senior officials of the ministry and members of the HAAB Executive Committee were present.
