A complaint has been filed with the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) against former interim government adviser Asif Nazrul and his personal secretary Masum over alleged irregularities in the transfer of sub-registrars involving hundreds of crores of taka.

Supreme Court lawyer Barrister M. Sarwar Hossain submitted the application to the ACC on Wednesday.

According to the complaint, large-scale financial transactions took place over an eight-month period in connection with the transfer and posting of sub-registrars under the Law Ministry. It alleges that established transfer policies were widely ignored, with postings influenced by bribery.

The complaint states that an unusually high number of sub-registrars were transferred within a short span, many reportedly securing preferred postings through payments ranging from several lakh to several million taka. In some cases, officials were transferred multiple times within just a few months.

It further alleges that officers who refused to pay bribes faced punitive or repeated transfers, while lower-grade officers were assigned to higher-grade offices in violation of existing rules.

Under current policy, officers are supposed to be posted according to their grade classification. However, the complaint claims these provisions were not followed during the period in question.

The application also notes that concerns over irregularities became so significant that the ministry later issued a warning stating that no financial transactions should take place in transfers and postings, and urging officials to remain cautious of fraudulent offers.

The ACC has not yet issued any official statement regarding the complaint.
