1 lakh pieces of Yaba worth about 3 crore taka have been recovered from Banshkhali police station area of Chittagong district and 1 CNG used for drug transportation has been seized. During this, RAB-7 Chittagong arrested three drug dealers.
The operation was carried out on Wednesday (April 29) at around 4:30 pm.
According to administrative sources, RAB-7, Chittagong, based on secret information, came to know that some drug dealers were coming towards Chittagong metropolis from the border area of Cox’s Bazar district in a CNG vehicle via Banshkhali police station area of Chittagong district for the purpose of selling drugs.
Based on that information, today, April 29, at around 4:30 pm, an expeditionary team of RAB-7, Chittagong set up a temporary check post in front of Banshkhali Women’s Degree College under Banshkhali police station of Chittagong district and searched the vehicle.
Later, when the CNGT reached the place, sensing the presence of RAB, some people tried to escape and were able to arrest the accused Md. Salim Ullah (43), father late Abdul Nabi, Sang-Gonapara, Md. Hasan Murad (48), father late Ansarul Haque Sikder, Sang-Qutubjum and Md. Majid Alam Prakash Morjan (35), father late Kabir Ahmed, Sang-Qutubjum, Sarva Thana-Moheshkhali, District-Cox’s Bazar.
Later, during the search of that CNG, 1 lakh pieces of Yaba specially kept inside the gas cylinder of the CNG were recovered and 1 CNG used for transporting drugs was seized. The estimated value of the recovered drugs is about 3 crore taka.
Further legal action is under process regarding the arrested accused and the recovered drugs.
