The road to the final of the Axentec Presents FICCI Football Tournament 2026 became clearer following an electrifying Quarter Final round filled with late drama, penalty shootout heroics, dominant displays, and standout individual performances. Organized by Nutmeg under the banner of the Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), the tournament once again showcased the growing competitive spirit within Bangladesh’s corporate football community.
HSBC became the first team to secure a place in the Cup Semi-Finals after overcoming Chevron Bangladesh in a fast-paced contest. Maintaining composure throughout the match, HSBC capitalized on key moments to edge past Chevron Bangladesh 2–1, with Sharon delivering an influential performance that earned him the Player of the Match award.
The second quarter-final produced one of the most tense moments of the tournament so far. After regular time failed to separate the sides, Singer Bangladesh held their nerve in the penalty shootout, where goalkeeper Omar Ali emerged as the defining figure of the evening. His crucial saves guided Singer to victory and sent the team into the semi-finals amid loud celebrations from teammates and supporters alike.
Robi and Standard Chartered Bank then delivered a contest packed with intensity and suspense. With the match seemingly heading toward penalties, Robi produced a late breakthrough through Abir’s clever back header from a long throw situation, shifting momentum dramatically in the closing moments. As Standard Chartered pushed numbers forward in search of an equalizer, Robi struck once more on the counterattack to seal qualification. Nafi’s energetic performance and creative influence saw him earn his second Player of the Match recognition of the tournament.
The final quarter-final belonged to DHL, who continued their impressive run with another commanding display. Showing attacking sharpness from the opening whistle, DHL cruised to a comprehensive victory over Unilever Bangladesh. Shahinur once again starred for the side with a brace, extending his position as the tournament’s leading scorer, while Masum, Saikat, and Arif also added their names to the scoresheet.
With the quarter-finals concluded, anticipation now builds for the Cup Semi-Finals, where HSBC will face DHL in a highly anticipated clash, while Robi will meet Singer Bangladesh in another heavyweight encounter.
