There is a wind of change in the Anwara Upazila Land Office of Chittagong. Leaving behind the long-standing suffering, complaints of brokers’ violence and complexity, the common people are getting fast and easy services.
Locals claim that since Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Deepak Tripura took charge, there have been visible changes in the land office. He supervises various activities of the office every day. He often calls the people who come to get services himself and listens to their problems. This has created trust and comfort among the common people.
Locals say that earlier it was difficult to work in the land office without brokers. The common people had to suffer even to do a small job. Now many people are getting solutions by talking to the officials directly. In particular, the service recipients said that the settlement of various complex name registration and land-related cases that have been pending for a long time is also being done quickly.
Service recipient Mohammad Ismail said that although his ancestral home is in Anwara, he lives in Dhaka. Having a land-related problem, he contacted Assistant Commissioner (Land) Deepak Tripura. Later, after understanding the matter, the work was quickly completed through his relative.
Another service recipient, Md. Salauddin, a resident of Dudhkumara area of Anwara Upazila, said that he could not understand anything when he went to the land office for the first time. At that time, the Assistant Commissioner (Land) himself went to him and asked for the necessary information and provided him with assistance in the work by assigning one person.
In this regard, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Deepak Tripura said, “I have come here to serve the people. My main goal is to ensure harassment-free and easy land services to the people. Since taking charge, I have tried to make the land office broker-free. Many people used to face various problems due to brokers. Now they are getting solutions by talking to me directly.” He also said, “People should come to the office directly and talk about any land-related problem without fear. I am here to serve the people.”
