DHAKA : Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today handed over a joint declaration over the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) to the senior secretaries.
Earlier, senior secretaries and secretaries of 35 ministries signed the joint declaration on the NCDs.
The Chief Adviser handed over the declaration at an event held at Shapla Hall at the Chief Adviser’s Office (CAO) in Tejgaon in Dhaka.
Later, Prof Yunus delivered his speech on the occasion.
Health and Family Welfare Adviser Nurjahan Begum, Special Assistant on the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Professor Dr Md Sayedur Rahman and Health Services Division Secretary Md Saidur Rahman also spoke, among others.
Advisers, the cabinet secretary, the chief adviser’s principal secretary, senior secretaries, secretaries, senior government officials and representatives from development partners were present at the event.
