Islami Bank Officers’ Welfare Association organized a biennial general meeting and initiation ceremony of new committeeon 28 August, 2025at the auditorium of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh, in the capital. Professor Dr. M Zubaidur Rahman, Chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, addressed the program as the chief guest. Md. Omar Faruk Khan, Managing Director of the bank, chaired the event while Md. Abdus Salam, FCA, FCS, Chairman of the Bank’s Audit Committee, addressed as special guest. Md. Altaf Hossain and Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder, Additional Managing Directors, delivered speeches on behalf of the advisory panel. Engineer Abul Bashar and Md. Mosharraf Hossain, former Deputy Managing Directors of the Bank and former presidents of the Association, also addressed at the event. The outgoing president A.K.M. MahbubMorshed, outgoing general secretary A.S.M. Rezaul Karim, vice-president Md. Mahbub-a-Alam ,newly elected president AbulLaiseMohd. Khaled and newly elected general secretary Md. Maznunzzaman delivered their remarks as well. Md. MahboobAlam, Muhammad Sayeed Ullah, Dr. M Kamal Uddin Jasim and Md. Maksudur Rahman, Deputy Managing Directors, were present on the occasion. Prizes were distributed for the Essay Competition 2024, and the magazine ‘Bondhon’ was unveiled. Md. Omar Faruk Khan, Managing Director of the bank, conducted the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected committee members. The event was attended by former and newly elected members of the executive committee, senior executives and officials from the head office and various Branches, a press release said.
In his speech as chief guest, Professor Dr. M Zubaidur Rahman said that everyone must work unitedly to restore the reputation of Islami Bank. With people’s unwavering trust and confidence, the bank is moving towards success. He added, “This bank had a glorious past, and I believe its future will also be bright.” He further stated that a dedicated team of honest and hardworking employees is working for the progress of the bank. He called upon the elected representatives of the Officers’ Welfare Association to utilize their intellect and wisdom in serving the welfare of the bank.
