‘Magic Bauliana 2025 Fifth Season’ has started again on Maasranga Television under the initiative of Sun Foundation and sponsored by Square Toiletries Limited in search of new talent in Bengali folk music, a press release said.
Sun Foundation started its journey to create a proper archive for the future generations, to stand by the artists, to ensure their proper evaluation, and to ensure the rights and royalties of the songs. Since its inception, Sun Foundation has been working to promote Bengali folk music. In continuation of that, this year’s Magic Bauliana 2025 started.
More than 38 thousand contestants from all over the country have registered for this fifth season till August 22.
The first audition round was held on August 29, at the Kushtia District Shilpakala Academy.
Numerous contestants participated throughout the day, and the KushtiaShilpakala Academy premises were filled with the sounds of their Baul songs. The judges were Kamruzzaman Rabbi, PaglaBablu, TuntunBaul, Sandipan, ShafiulBadsha and Diti Sarkar.
After analyzing the songs, the judges gave magic cards to 4 artists from the audition and selection round to come to Dhaka. Thus, a total of 40 contestants from all over the country will participate in the mega selection round in Dhaka.
The artists selected from Kushtia are RajniKhatun, Jakib Ahmed Prince, AntaramiHaldarSwapna and Salma Sargam.
