DHAKA : Opener Naim Sheikh refused to give up the hopes as he prepares himself to make another comeback in the national team, reports BSS.
After being dropped from the national team in 2022, Naim made a comeback in 2025, following a consistent performance in the domestic cricket but that was undermined by his below par performance.
But Naim doesn’t think that it’s the end of the world as he has expressed his strong determination to return to the national team after performing well in domestic cricket again.
To do so, his first assignment will be the upcoming NCL T20, where he will lead Dhaka Metro.
“This kind of tournament helps us a lot for the preparation of BPL,” Naim told the reporters. “Expectations are to play well, score good runs, be man of the match, and make some contribution to the team so that the team can win. These things will be the goal.”
He also spoke at length about being dropped from the national team, “I tried to use the opportunity as a national team player. But somehow I couldn’t succeed.”
“To return to the national team, you have to prove yourself. Every time I was dropped from the national team, I gave it my all in domestic cricket and achieved something good. I still have that desire to perform like this again so that I can return to the national team.”
