In search of new talent in Bengali folk music, ‘Magic Bauliana 2025 Season 5’ has started again on Maasranga Television under the initiative of Sun Foundation and sponsored by Square Toiletries Limited. Sun Foundation started its journey to create a proper archive for the future generations, to stand by the artists, to ensure their proper evaluation, and to ensure the rights and royalties of the songs. Since its inception, Sun Foundation has been working on the expansion of Bengali folk music. In continuation of that, this year’s Magic Bauliana 2025 started, a press release said.
More than 38 thousand contestants from all over the country have registered for this fifth edition till August 22.
Rangpur audition round was held on September 12, at the District Shilpakala Academy
Numerous contestants participated throughout the day, mesmerized by the melody of their Baul songs at the District Shilpakala Academy, Rangpur premises. The judges were Kamruzzaman Rabbi, Sandipan, Lovely Dev, KhairulWasi, Diti Sarkar and BhajanKshepa.
After analyzing the songs, melody, rhythm, presentation, and mannerisms of all the contestants, the judges gave magic cards to 4 artists from the audition and selection rounds to come to Dhaka. Thus, a total of 40 contestants from all over the country will participate in the mega selection round in Dhaka.
